I have never played a violin before but this tune and couple of others have really inspired me to learn how to play it.

I want to know how much does a decent violin cost and where do I go to learn how to play like that.
Thanks in advance. I really want to learn how to play violin, and I need some advice
Bottom line is I wouldn't waste much less than $500 dollars on buying a violin if you intend to play at a moderate level of skill. The reason is because if you want to play at the level you're looking at in the video, it will probably take a few years of practice and lessons and by then you will outgrow the crappy $300 violin you bought when you first started. Trust me, they sound like shoe boxes with strings when you compare them to a decent student or professional level violin.
My suggestion is to rent a violin for a while to see if you like it. That way you can see with less risk what it's like to play and if you have the patience to deal with the challenges and the steep learning curve of playing the violin, and trust me, it's steep. There are plenty of violin shops that will let you rent a decent quality student violin for as low as $20 a month.
As far as lessons go, the bottom line is you want someone who teaches a solid method from the very start. I can speak from personal experience and tell you that if you do not begin with proper method and instruction, you will spend many years trying to unlearn bad habits and incorrect methods.
You have two choices unless you currently study at a university where you can get lessons from an accredited professor of music: shops or universities. They both offer teachers for reasonable lesson prices as low as $10 or $15 an hour, but you can't always rely on the experience and method of a teacher who works out of a store as their standards of acceptance into such a program is often tenuous. A university will get you in touch with students who can teach beginners with the same method they're taught by their professor, meaning that you get almost the same instruction without having to shell out a few thousand dollars per semester to get lessons with a professor. And trust me, those guys bust their asses: as someone who's spent several semesters studying music at a university I can tell you firsthand that they are constantly put to the test to achieve high standards of performance every semester. These guys will get you on the right track.
So to sum it up, if I were you, I'd go to your local music shop, rent a decent student violin, go to a university or college with a decent school of music and talk to them about getting started with student lessons. It may cost you more in the long run to do those two than to just buy one, but this way you will get a quality start to learning and also be able to quit if you decide you don't like the violin. I wish you all the best in your journey to learn violin!I really want to learn how to play violin, and I need some advice
Those are really beautiful tunes, but from Indian classical music, I suspect; the tunes are not from the European classical repertoire.
But always, with the violin, you must find a good private teacher who plays the sort of music you wish to play.
The violins these gentlemen are playing are not so-called ';student violins,'; but I would guess in the $1,000 range and likely more. Examples of such instruments may be found here:

You should consult with your teacher about finding a violin, and also perhaps be satisfied with a lesser instrument until you determine that you are going to stick with your studies. You can be sure the two musicians on the YouTube videos have studied for many years -- at least five and probably more like 10.
Good luck!
A decent violin costs probably around 200-500 dollars for a begginer and around 1000 and up for more advanced players.
If you dont want to spend that much you could rent one but buying a violin is way better. This is a site a used to buy a daughter for my daughter.http://www.sharmusic.com/ they have exellent violins and they are in great condition and its a great price expecially those back to school sales that are going on.
To play like that i suggest you go to your local music store and they probably have instructors that could teach you to play the violin. Pretty soon you'll could get better and better and play probably even better than the person in the video.
Hope this helps..=]
You can probably get a good quality one for about $100-$500. Prices can really vary depending on who made it, age, electric... You'll have to do some research to make sure what's best for you.
If you're not sure, I recommend that you rent one. You can find a music store that rents violins and try a few out to see which you like best. Some stores will let you buy the rental if you want to keep it.
The music store may also have information on instructors who will teach you how to play. Or you can try looking online or your local yellow pages. Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun!
You could go to sharmusic.com and look in their student/beginner violin category....when you find some you like, call them and they will suggest the one that they think is right for you.
