you really need to look at the grade. look at that fat 75% and tell yourself how many times you have seen this before. also. when you study turn ur fone off, leave Small papers in your textbook all over the place that are sticky notes that say 100%
this works for me i hope it works for youI need advice on how to get better grades.?
Motivate yourself man! I'm kinda in the same boat with you, I go to a college-prep high school and take very demanding courses. I manage to get A's and the occasional B. When I mess up on a quiz or test, I read over it and see what I messed up on. Then I just make a mental note to remember it. Studying is a pain too, so much so that I don't do it until maybe the morning of the test. If you can pay extreme attention during lecture, you can get away with not studying 'till the morning of the test too.
Yeah, long answer, but I felt like writing it.
Just make sure that you do study. Use your homework to do so and PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS, I'm guilty of not doing this myself...
As bad as this may seem, you should go after school and review with your teacher,
because sometimes they give hints to you on what's going to be on the test.
If there are also review sessions, go there. Also find out what kind of learner are you? Do you study better buy reading the content outloud? Do you study better with pictures? notecards?
There are three types of learners:
Visual, Auditory, and Tactile
Visual: means be sure you look at all study materials. Use charts, maps, filmstrips, notes, videos, and flash cards. Practice visualizing or picturing ords and concepts in our head. Write out everything for frequent and quick visual review.
Auditory: you might want to use tapes. tape lectures to help fill in gapes in your notes (just ask your teacher first). but DO listn and take notes and review them frequently. Sit somewhere in the class where you can hear well. Afer reading something, summarize it and recite outloud.TALK to your classmates about the class material.
Tactile: trace words as you are saing them. Facts that must be learned should be written several times. Keep a supply of scratch paper on hand for this purpose. Taking and Keeping lecure notes are very important. Mak study sheets. Asscoate class material with real-world things or occurrences. Practice role playing?
LOL if anyone from my school reads this, then they will definitely recognize all this.
Also if it's vocab u r having trouble with, either: implement them into ur life or connect them to completely random phrases....for example.
To remember what the frontal lobe in the brain does, I just remember a phrase that my teacher taught us:
You are standing in the front of the line. An old lady cuts you. you want to trip her, but you control your impulse.
The frontal lobe is controls ur impulse. =D
Another example: You are in front of a pit and it keeps growing and growing.
the Pituitary Gland- controls growth.
if you have that much time in your hands, you can do that...but im not sure if you'll be able to.
