You wont be able to do anything to the fan if they are new. The noise you are hearing are from the pitch of the blades. Just like an propeller it makes a certain amount of noise, About the only thing you can do is to slow it down and that would defeat the purpose. If New, Return it. If not then have someone tighten it up. I'm guessing its a box fan. Set a few heavy books on top of it.
Hi Hope. That type of fan should be put in the window. It should run quiet. Check to see if they are vibrating against something.
You can make it quieter by opening it up
and oiling the motor and other moving parts.
What do fans do? They move air.

turn them off and then you wont hear them. lol
