The driver's side lock switch on my 2005 Corolla door has sunk below the panel. Any advice on how to fix it?

It's no doubt due to normal wear and tear. The system itself still works but I would prefer not to take it to the dealer. Any suggestions as to how I can remove the panel(s) and re-attach the switch? The driver's side lock switch on my 2005 Corolla door has sunk below the panel. Any advice on how to fix it?
the door panel just pops on around the edge of it,and then you remove any screws that might be holding on the arm rest also, and there may be a clip on the widow crank if its manual windows, then you remove the door handle ,once you get this off you,ll be able to see what has happened to it,more than likely its come loose,it shouldn't be real hard to get back in place, good luck hope this helps. The driver's side lock switch on my 2005 Corolla door has sunk below the panel. Take it to a mechanic.
Pull the door panel (carefully remove the screws and pry around the edges to pop the retainers, AFTER removing the armrest. You've got either a broken switch itself, OR more likely the housing is broken. You'll want to access the back side of the assembly with the panel removed. Make sure to press the detents on the harness connectors to free the harness from the switches. If the switches all work, you may try using a catalyzed epoxy to repair and secure the assembly or if there is a problem with switch function then you'll need to replace it. good luck
The pannels are easy to take off. Usually they have a few screws and mostly clips that snap off. If you are not mechanically inclined take the car to a car stereo shop or even a chain store like Best Buy in the radio installation area. They have manuals specific to most models that will allow them to take off the pannel without doing damage to anything. They should not charge you more than $20-30 to do this.

It will be way cheaper than going to a dealer. Once they take it off just pay them and take your car home to repair the lock problem yourself. Reattachment of the pannel is a DIY thing for sure.

Good luck!
