You hold onto the cats or puppy and ur friend/family member holds onto the puppy/cats deciding on which you choose to hold.
Put them near each other. If they seem ok with each other let go but keep a close eye on them.Dont leave them on there own together untill a couple of days after them getting along well.
Soon they will probably be best friends and look up to each other.
Good luck im getting a puppy too!!I am getting a 10wk old puppy soon. Any advice on how to introduce him to my 2 resident cats?

I own a 9 week old puppy %26amp; I just got her about 13 days ago from a local shelter.
I have 1 kitten (She'll be 4 months on August 1st) and I just brought the dog home %26amp; she loved her.
But, I'm not to sure as of how old your cats are. And besides my kitten, Delani, has been around dogs/cats/and a guinea pig since she was brought to my home (Right before she turned a month old. I had to bottle feed. It's sucks bottle feeding %26amp; it's hard. So, just bring the dog home %26amp; see what the cats do. Hopefully they'll like the new dog.
I'm sure the dog will be fine with the cats with him/her being so young.
Good-Luck W/ the Puppy %26amp; Cats!
EDIT: When you are introducing them, make sure the dog is on a leash %26amp; make him sit down %26amp; try to make him calm so the cats can sniff him out. %26amp; let the dog sniff thats cats, too!
Nothing fancy, just bring the puppy home and find him a spot that's NOT where one of the cats lay alot or call their own spot. Trust me: they will sniff at the pup and introduce themselves. Since he's little, hopefully he won't impose a threat to the kitties...Since there are two of them, hopefully they won't feel all jealous and go ';leaving messages'; for you that they're pissed..(no pun intended)...My cat was VERY jealous of people and other cats especially, but he played regularly with the dog next door, so since the pup is not feline, maybe they'll embrace him as a
'; Youngin' ';. (Like those old lady sheep did with Babe...BAH! RAM! EWE!) Have Fun!
at first only put it in a small area like a bathroom, then slowly bring the cats in with it, but only under your supervision, then let it in only part of the house, slowly enlarging the area
depending on what breed you are getting some puppies are more scared of the cats so they will stay away. it is the cats you should worry about as cats tend to lash out. but as i said it depend what breed of dog you are getting
